Q: I already have an accountant, so why do I need your services?

A: Our services are entirely complementary with those of your existing external accountant. Your accountant is focused on completing and filing your statutory obligations, for example your annual accounts and tax returns. We are focused on helping you run your business, using the information that finance teams can produce throughout the year to help you understand your business better, make more financially informed decisions and ultimately deliver profitable growth.

The only exception is with the bookkeeping service we offer to Micro-entities on FreeAgent, or Micro and Small businesses on Xero, where we can complete these statutory obligations and filings for you, eliminating the need for another accountant to be involved.

Q:  How much do you charge?

A: Our services range from board level support to bookkeeping, so as you would expect the rate we charge varies depending on the service. After our initial conversation and having got to know your business requirements better, we will be able to put together a package of services with a rate to both meet your needs and budget.

For FD and NED services, typically we will work on a day rate. As your FD you may want us between 2 and 8 days a month, depending on business size, needs and in-house team experience. As your NED it will be more like 1-2 days per month.

Consultancy work will be priced on either a time and materials or fixed fee basis, depending on what is more appropriate for the project.

Bookkeeping rates are our lowest rates and very competitive, plus you get the added value of being able to easily step into our other services and get advice as you need it.

Q: What geographic areas do you cover?

A: We are based in Boston Spa, West Yorkshire, however are happy to offer our services nationally through the use of remote working technologies.

If you require regular on-site attendance for the FD or NED role, then we are happy to provide that service throughout Yorkshire.

Q: How long am I contracted for?

A: As long or as short a period as you want or need - this can be discussed and agreed at the start of the engagement.

I was a CIMA prizewinner on 4 occasions during my training, receiving commendations for finishing with exam results in the Top 10 in the World. Since then I have been lucky to have a varied and rewarding career, working with some great people and companies.
